How we research recommendations
PrimeRecommend Editorial Team writes decision guides for people who want a few useful options, clear trade-offs and a calmer next step. We start with the reader's situation, not a universal winner or a list of every product.
How options are selected
We consider a short set of products relevant to common tasks and compare the factors that change a decision: price after an introductory period, plan limits, device or site capacity, refund terms, setup effort and reasons to keep looking. A product's presence is a comparison, not an endorsement for everyone. We say when a current claim cannot be verified rather than treating an old claim as current.
How facts are checked
For material product facts we prefer the provider's current plan, support, policy and terms pages, cite those pages in the guide, and date the check. We distinguish a provider-stated feature or offer from our own fit interpretation. Regional prices, promotions, taxes, contract lengths, renewal rates, eligibility and bundled features can change or differ at checkout. Readers should verify the actual plan and written terms before purchasing.
Research is not hands-on testing
Reading a provider's documentation does not prove its speed, security, uptime, support quality, ease of use or real-world privacy outcome. Unless a guide explicitly documents a test and its method, PrimeRecommend has not run a hands-on comparison or audit. We do not present provider marketing claims as independent test results.
Reviews and corrections
Important guides are reviewed when material product or policy changes are identified; we aim to revisit high-impact guides at least twice a year. A visible “facts checked” date identifies the sources checked on that date, not a guarantee that every detail remains current. When a source is inaccessible or a claim is disputed, we qualify it, seek a current primary source and correct or remove unsupported wording. To report an error, use the Contact page and include the page, claim and a source if possible.
Affiliate relationships
Some links may earn PrimeRecommend a commission, at no extra cost to the reader. A commission does not determine whether we describe a product as a good fit, and non-affiliate options can appear where useful. We mark affiliate links near the relevant recommendation and explain them in our Affiliate Disclosure. A direct product link is never required to read our methodology.
